The spirit of our 10th Golden Decade collection is to recreate some amazing and iconic pieces on the golden era of denim. The real duty came in hands when we try to create something based on those iconic pieces but thru our own frame of mind so that we can come up with our own symbolic set of garments that have this solid history and foundation. Just like this particular 606RJ Jacket piece of ours. Modelled after the iconic Lee 101 Rider Jacket of the 1948. But of course, we tweaked and refined some of the details based on our personal taste.
The fabric we use is another run of our exclusively milled Japanese denim. The special character on this 13 oz. / sq. yard loom-state denim fabric is that the fabric was loomed on a low-tension level of weaving. Such a low-tension will produce naturally uneven and rough fabric texture and feel. The yarn count of the denim itself is 7/- X 6/-. As the previous run of our exclusive milled in Japan denim, they also have this double line selvedge (light blue and plain).
This particular piece has the special embroidery sewn on the rear body. It’s done one by one with manual hands using vintage chainstitch embroidery machine. So do not expect the 0 deviance as you got from the automatic computerized one. The jacket’s pattern also resembles the classic piece of the 40’s; pretty wide shoulders, plenty of room in the chest, and shorter body length. Trimmed using our special made Scovill USA copper plated buttons. Natural corozo buttons sourced from Central America for the waist adjuster. Completed with the special made ‘Blue Rider’ labels and Oldblue horizontal black tab.
