THE SPIRIT

We believe a decent quality product is only derived by series of certain quality infusion towards every step of the product’s workmanship itself. We make sure quality aspect can be applied through the holistic conception.
The first and core step is no other than the input; the material that we utilize for this matter.
We believe a decent quality product is only derived by series of certain quality infusion towards every step of the product’s workmanship itself.
We make sure quality aspect can be applied through the holistic conception. The first and core step is no other than the input; the material that we utilize for this matter.
As a so-called heritage brand that possess this need to produce something with a historically correct procedure and simply creating something that reminisces the good ol’ days along with its traditional value, our material utilization is indeed quite particular and specific.
From the low-tension slow-rpm shuttle-loomed selvedge denim to the 100% copper rivet that will have this green patina over times, they’re all seriously and carefully sourced.
We always open in regard to the origin of quality materials that we use over the times. As we believe it’s a primary right for each of our customer. We source only quality materials from many places around the world.
Mainly we use exceptional selvedge denim fabrics from Japan, USA, and also fabrics milled locally here in Indonesia for our main ingredients. We even custom developed and exclusively fresh-ordered some of our denim line up through our selected partnered mills.
For the hardware, we recently custom developed our buttons and pure copper rivets from Scovill. A well-known and historical fastener brand from USA. Even to the smallest detail like leather patch we put quality aspect for that too.
From 2011 we continually use impeccable horse hide from Horween for our signature hot stampin’ patch. Along with the other special leathers from leather mills around the globe.
Crafting rugged-wear with better quality and trusted durability is our basic foundation of existence. In order to accomplish that mission, all the quality materials in the world will never be enough. All the high valued quality input (materials) will be just a waste if we’re not able to process ‘em in the right manner. We also pay big attention towards our production process. For that need we also have our own sewing workshop which know serves a main function for our prototyping / blueprinting need before every garment proceeded to final mass production.
And for the sake of our idealism and main value, our production workshop is full with set of vintage sewing machines. A group of vintage sewing machineries dated back from 1920s, 1940s, 1960s, and so on. Those old sewing machines are known for their stitching’s strength and durability comparing to the modern ones that all about speed of production. And the bonus side it’s always fun for us to try to replicate the exact machineries that were used in the older days.
Yes we’re not just describe and label ourselves as a heritage brand. We really do something about it in real life realm. Not just the external look of our dry goods but more importantly the internal value and process is also done with the same heritage spirit and corridor.
As explicitly explained, our main inspiration comes from the vintage American workwear, ranging from the 1890s to 1960s era. As we always feel that it was the era when garments, specifically work wear, were at the best period. From the fabrics, constructions, details, to the machinery behind them. So our aim is on how to interpret the garments that were made back then through our own lense and through our own vision.
As classic and repro is also our main spirit, the end product that we designed and made would not (and also could not) be so far away from those classical eras. The main, and also the hardest, task in our product design process is revolvin’ around on how we make our product look and feel the same way as those classical eras but different enough so that people can quickly tell that the product is made n’ designed by Oldblue.
And as the final touch of our output quality and to even more emphasize our long-lasting quality, we have this Lifetime Guarantee policy. We always offer a Lifetime Guarantee for every Oldblue denim dungarees, wherever you bought it, whenever you bought it. This practice is also our effort to longer the lifespan of our already-lasting blue genes. In this kind of everything fast n’ cheap era, It’s always wiser to have fewer clothes built in better quality and longer last value. As clichés as it gets, but it’s the truth; ‘buy less, choose well, make it last’.
