We wanted to buck that trend, to show the world that we can craft denim that can stand toe-to-toe with the best of ’em. This is a labor of love, a denim dream that’s been years in the making. THE FABRIC
We’ve partnered with the good folks at Atlantic Mills in Thailand to create something truly special, a denim that’s as unique as the wild west itself. The secret sauce? A whole lotta slub. But not just any slub. This is over-slub, a texture that’s as rough and tumble as the American frontier.
To achieve this unique look and feel, we’ve used extremely short-staple slub yarn, spun in Japan and woven on shuttle looms in Thailand. The “Over-Slub” moniker is no exaggeration. The slub yarns, mostly on the weft face, create a striking horizontal pattern that’s as rugged as the Wild West.
At 18 ounces, this denim might sound hefty. But don’t let the weight fool you. It’s soft, supple, and surprisingly comfortable. The sanforized finish means you can wear it straight out of the box without any pre-shrinking fuss.
THE DETAILS
These dungarees are a testament to Oldblue’s signature style, right down to the finest detail. From the single-looped arcuate stitching on the back pockets to the indigo hickory-lined front pockets, every inch exudes timeless appeal.
The two-tone chainstitched hem and the Oldblue signature looped stitch on the coin pocket add a touch of rugged elegance. And let’s not forget the hidden rivets, raised back pockets, and belt loops, all designed to enhance both form and function. The overlock shell-stitch on the fly and the two-tone double-felled inseam construction complete the picture, ensuring durability and a classic look that will stand the test of time.
Both styles are finished with our signature hardware: a donut-shaped button from Scovill USA and copper rivets from the same legendary company. The leather patch, made from pebbled grain cowhide, adds a touch of rugged elegance.
THE FIT
We’re wranglin’ up options to fit all kinds of body builds, thanks to the fabric’s range and versatility. That’s why we’re giving you two cuts to choose from: the 8.25″ Slim Straight and the 7.75″ Slim.
The 8.25” Cut is a clean, no-nonsense slim straight fit, sitting comfortably between a slim and a regular straight cut. It’s snug through the thigh, with just enough hug without straying into tight territory. From there, it falls nice and straight all the way down to the hem for a classic look. With a medium rise, it gives you a bit more breathing room up top—comfortable and reliable for day-to-day wear. This cut’s got the range to suit a lot of body types.
Then we’ve got the 7.75″ Cut, our mainstay in slim-fitted jeans. This one’s also got that medium rise to keep things comfortable, so you’re set to tackle whatever the day throws at you. It’s got a bit of a taper from the calf to the leg opening, plus a slightly lower yoke in the back.
